Trader shot dead
Late on Sunday night, armed men killed Sardar Imam Bux Baloch and injured Aqeel in near the Fariya Apartments on Abul Hasan Isphahani Road.
Sub–Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Iftekhar Ahmed Lodhi of Sohrab Goth Division said that when the police reached the crime scene, they were informed that the injured men had already been taken to the Patel Hospital.
The Sachal police cordoned off the area and sent another team to the Patel Hospital, where they were informed that Baloch succumbed to his injuries.
The police talked to Aqeel, who told them that he was the driver of Sardar Baloch. He said that the deceased was a furniture trader in the Liaquatabad area and a resident of Sachal.
He had left his house for some work on Sunday and was intercepted on the Abul Isphahani Road by two armed motorcyclists, who shot him and fled from the scene of the crime.
SDPO Lodhi said that Baloch was shot four times and the police managed to recover the empty casings of a 9mm pistol from the scene of the crime, which were sent to the forensics division.
He added that the murder seemed to be a targeted killing, but said it was too early to determine the motive and the police would investigate the case from a personal enmity aspect as well.
