Karachi: Robbery gang member busted
KARACHI: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Sunday claimed to have nabbed a robbery gang’s member after a brief encounter that took place at Kala Pul. The arrested suspect was identified as Ali Hussain, alias Don, alias Aga Khani. An official informed that they recovered a TT pistol and 35 snatched cell phones from his possession. His companions, Uzaifa, Kamran, Razzak Afghani, and Asif, however, managed to escape under the cover of firing.
The arrest was disclosed in a press conference held at the SIU office. SIU chief SP Khurram Waris told media that arrested suspect was the member of a robbery gang that consisted of over a dozen members. According to SP Waris, during initial interrogation, he admitted that his group killed at least five people including Tahir Baig, Store In-charge of Pakistan Army, for resisting robbery bids. He said that the suspect’s arrest had once again confirmed that every killing was not targeted and that mostly people were killed over personal enmities or in robbery bids.
