Lahore: Man shot dead over monetary dispute
LAHORE: A 30-year-old man was murdered over a monetary dispute in the Hunjerwal Colony police area on Saturday. Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case against five accused persons with no arrest so far. The victim was identified as Adnan Butt. He was a servant of a jeweler named Pervez Akhtar, a resident of Rizwan Colony. A police official said Pervez Akhtar had a monetary dispute with one Mohsin and they had also scuffled on the issue several times. On the day of the incident, Mohsin approached Pervez along with his four accomplices and exchanged harsh words with him on the issue. In the meantime, Mohsin got infuriated and allegedly opened firing on Pervez and his servant Adnan Butt. As a result, both people sustained bullet wounds while the accused persons managed to escape from the scene.
The injured were rushed to hospital where Adnan Butt succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Pervez was stated to be out of danger.
Police reached the scene and collected forensic evidence.
A police team also conducted raids to arrest the accused but to no avail so far.
