Mansehra: Illegal arms seized from shop
MANSEHRA: Police here have seized a cache of arms and ammunition being sold illegally at an arms shop. Mohammad Ijaz, DSP Mansehra, told media persons on Sunday that a police team raided an arms shop in the city and recovered 100 guns and as many pistols besides 25,000 rounds, which were being sold illegally. He said that Mohammad Ishfaq, owner of the shop, had been arrested for alleged involvement in smuggling of arms and ammunition.
He urged people to cooperate with police in curbing crimes in Mansehra.
In another raid, Khaki police have seized 20 kg of charas and arrested an Afghan national Mohammad Sardar during a raid on a tent house in Sheikh Abad Afghan refugee camp.
“We have launched a crackdown against criminals and more raids are being planned in the city and its suburbs,” said Mr Ijaz.
He also asked people to cooperate with police in curbing crimes in Mansehra.
Answering a question, the DSP said that family of a minor girl, who was kidnapped from Karachi and recovered here the other day, was also traced. The girl would be handed over to them on their arrival in Mansehra, he said.
