Rawalpindi: Youth commits suicide
RAWALPINDI: A young man killed himself by jumping in front of a passenger train near Rahimabad (Chaklala) on Sunday, police said. Imran Masih, 29, had been in distress after doctors informed him that he was at the last stage of Hepatitis–C and needed a large sum of money for treatment of the disease. Police quoted his family as saying: “Since he knew about the reaction of the medical treatment, he plunged into distress and used to say that it would be better to die than live a miserable life.”
On Sunday, he put his purse, ID card and cellphone on a table in his room and left the house. Later, he jumped in front of a Karachi-bound passenger train.
A few hours later, his family was informed that Imran Masih had died after being hit by a passenger train.
Earlier, the police could not identify the victim as nothing was found on his body parts, but later his family reached the District Headquarters Hospital and identified him.
