Karachi: Man killed over refusal to pay extortion
KARACHI: An employee of a chicken shop, Amir, was killed on Thursday when four armed motorcyclists opened fire after the owner of the shop refused to pay extortion money. The owner, Arshid, and another employee, Yaseen, were also injured in the incident in the Bahadurabad police jurisdiction. Following the incident, tensions gripped the area as shop owners shut their businesses and took to the streets in protest against the killing. They also pelted passing vehicles with stones, damaging their windows. Police came to disperse the mob but the infuriated people cast stones at them too and damaged their mobile van.
