Faisalabad: 2 more arrested in Sidhar gang-rape case
FAISALABAD: The Thikriwala police arrested two more accused involved in the gang–rape case of Malikpur (Sidhar) on Friday. The arrested accused are: Shahzad Ahmed of Nasimabad and Muhammad Ashraf of Madina Town. The police have already arrested Muhammad Irfan of Liaquatabad, Naveed Ahmed of Panjpir and Atif Ali of Madina Town after registering a case against them under sections 423, 365–B and 376 of the PPC. In her statement recorded by the police, the victim said that she was kidnapped 5-6 days ago by the accused at gunpoint from Town Bazaar where she had gone for shopping. She said that the accused put her in a car and took her to a house where they raped her. According to reports received here, the accused had administered some intoxicant to the girl and threw her in fields after raping her on Jhang Road. The Rescue 1122 officials shifted her to Allied Hospital on Thursday where her condition is stated to be critical.
The girl’s parents approached SHO Mazhar Shah for registration of a case on July 23. However, the police pressurised the victim family to reconcile with the accused instead of providing a relief to them. The matter was brought to the notice of CPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana who ordered suspension of the SHO and a case against him for negligence.
