Karachi: 2 suspects killed in ‘encounter’
KARACHI: Two suspected bandits were gunned down in what police described as an encounter in the Quaidabad area in the early hours of Friday. Police said that three men snatched cash from a trader near a wedding hall. However, a police patrol reached the scene and the fleeing robbers fired at the police. The police also returned fire and the bullets hit two suspects. Their third accomplice managed to escape on a motorcycle, they added.
One of the bandits was identified as Mohammad Zahid while his other accomplice could not be identified. Two pistols, Rs15,000 and a cell phone were recovered from their possession.
The police said that the bandits had deprived Mohammad Rahsid, a contractor, of Rs15,000 and his cellphone. The bodies were shifted to the JPMC for medico–legal formalities.
