Islamabad: 5 POs, 8 suspects arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police on Monday arrested five proclaimed offenders and eight suspects during a crackdown against the anti–social elements, a police spokesman said. The arrests are result of a massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders ordered by IG Bani Amin Khan to all SDPOs. During the last 24 hours, the Sihala and Shehzad Town police apprehended five proclaimed offenders who were wanted to police in various criminal cases. The Bhara Kahu police also conducted a search operation in their area and arrested seven suspects while the Aabpara police nabbed one suspect.
Meanwhile, the Golra police arrested three dacoits, identified as Amjad Ali, Liaquat Hussain and Adnan. The Ramna police also nabbed three thieves – Ramazan, Tahir Abbas and Ikramullah.
The IGP had ordered that no one is above the law. He had also warned the officers that no sluggish attitude on their part would be acceptable to him.
