Lahore: People catch robber near Jinnah Hospital
LAHORE: A dacoit was overpowered by people after he hit two citizens with his bike in a bid to loot them near the Jinnah Hospital underpass on Monday. He also fired into the air but citizens, however, remained safe. Later, locals overpowered and handed him over him to police along with his pistol. Trader arrested, freed: A trader was allegedly arrested and kept in illegal confinement but freed later by Ghaziabad police station on charges of giving fake currency notes to a fruit vendor. Muhammad Zeb, a trader of New Anarkali, blamed police for harassing him on charges of giving fake currency notes to a fruit seller after buying fruits for Iftar. He also blamed police for taking bribe to release him.
Three PR police officers reshuffled: Syed Ibne Hussain, PSP IGP Railways, ordered transfers of two SSPs and a DSP. SSP Robin Yamin transferred from IB Islamabad to Railway Police has been posted as SSP Railways Multan Division whereas Safdar Hussain Jafari, SP, has been posted as SP Railways Workshops Division.
DSP Muhammad Sultan Abro, awaiting a posting, has been posted as DSP Crimes Branch, CPO, PRP Lahore. Police transfers, postings: The Punjab government has issued a notification regarding transfers and postings of five officers on Monday.
Imam Bakhsh, Assistant Commissioner Hasilpur, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Commissioner Khanpur, Ameer Hussain, Sub-Registrar Faisalabad, as Assistant Commissioner Hasilpur, Asif Ali, Section Officer Irrigation Department, as General Assistant Revenue T.T Singh, and Mohammed Afzal Butt, Section Officer O&M Regulation Wing, has replaced Dr. Safdar Hussain, Special Judicial Magistrate Allama Iqbal Town Lahore, who has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
‘NH&MP to facilitate road users’: The National Highways and Motorway Police will make all efforts to facilitate the road users and provide timely and effective help to the commuters in distress, said DIG National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central Rai Altaf Hussain while paying a surprise visit from Lahore to Okara.
During his surprise visit, DIG Rai Altaf Hussain observed the public dealing of the officers and asked them to show maximum tolerance while dealing with the commuters. He instructed them to ensure effective checking of speeding vehicles through speed checking cameras, especially before ‘Iftaar’ timings.
DIG Rai Altaf Hussain also paid a surprise visit to NH&MP beat camps in Sunder and Jumber to observe the security arrangements of these camps and communication system installed there.
The DIG directed the beat commanders/DSPs to ensure proper arrangements for ‘Sehri’ and ‘Iftaar’ for officers on duty. He further directed them to take strict action against overloaded vehicles and motorcyclists without safety helmets. He also directed all SSPs to personally monitor the progress of campaigns and performance of the patrolling officers.
PHP finds two missing children: The Punjab Highway Patrol arrested a robber and found two missing children during a routine patrolling on Monday. PHP Post Kala Shah Kaku, Sheikhupura, received the information from a person Shahbaz s/o Ramazan who was present near Master CNG that three accused had snatched Rs. 90,000 from him near Shera Kot, Lahore.
The PHP team reached the spot, searched the accused and captured one of them. The other two accused fled towards Kala Shah Kaku. The PHP Post Missa Kaswal district Jhelum found one lost boy (14/15 years old).
The PHP team traced out his parents and handed him over to his brother namely Muhammad Zeeshan s/o Muhammad Ilyas. The PHP Post Lunda Phattak, district RY Khan, found one lost girl child (deaf & dumb (10/12–year old). The PHP team tried to search her parents but in vain. At last, the PHP team handed her over to Edhi Centre, Sadiqabad.
