Karachi: Bail plea of MQM-H man dismissed
KARACHI: A sessions court dismissed on Tuesday the bail application of an accused in a murder case. Asim, said to be an activist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi), along with absconding accomplices has been charged with killing Atiq–ur–Rehman, a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, and wounding his brother at the behest of Afaq Ahmed in the Ramaswami area in June 2009. Additional District and Sessions Judge (south) Javed Ahmed Keerio, who is conducting the trial inside the judicial complex (central prison), pronounced his order after hearing arguments from both sides.
A case (FIR 222/09) was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 109 (abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code. MQM-H chief Afaq Ahmed is on bail in the present case.
