Karachi: Man charged with 150 target killings remanded till 6th
KARACHI: A man facing charges of killing about 150 people was remanded in police custody on Tuesday for a week. The suspected target killer, Javed alias Bunda, had been arrested a day earlier during a raid conducted by a team of the Special Investigation Unit on a house in Orangi Town. A Kalashnikov and a 9mm pistol had been seized from him. The court of Judicial Magistrate (West) Pir Asadullah Shah Rashidi was informed that the accused possessed illegal arms and was also involved in encounters with police.
Police informed the court that Javed along with his absconding accomplices had killed a large number of people in different parts of the city. He also committed crimes in SITE police remit.
According to SIU chief SSP Khurram Warsi, Javed was also involved in extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases. The judge ordered the suspect to be produced in the court on August 6.
