Kohat: Doctor, nurses booked for patient’s death
KOHAT: The police on Tuesday registered cases against a female doctor and two nurses of a private clinic for the death of a woman during delivery due to their negligence. A tribesman Rashid belonging to Darra Adam Khel informed the cantonment police that he admitted his wife Gulshama Bibi in the clinic of Dr Gulshanara in Chakarkot. He alleged Dr Gulshanara left the patient by handing over the case to two nurses, Riffat Bibi and Shahnaz, as it was a normal delivery case.
Then the nurses called the doctor from her house who asked him (Rashid) to arrange blood for the patient who had given birth to a male child.
But despite hectic efforts he could not arrange blood in time. The doctor later informed the family that the patient had died.
The cantonment police lodged a case against the lady doctor and nurses but till filing of this report nobody had been arrested.
