Rawalpindi: Physical remand of 3 cops extended
RAWALPINDI: Duty Judge Ahmed Hasan Ranjha here on Tuesday extended physical remand for two days of three cops of Islamabad Police for allegedly helping a murder accused in escape from the District Headquarters Hospital. The judge ordered police to produce the cops again in the court on Thursday. Ruhullah Khan, allegedly involved in the killing of former attorney general of Pakistan Sardar Khan, was brought to the District Headquarters Hospital from Adiala Jail for treatment of hepatitis. Three cops of Islamabad Police — Assistant Sub–Inspector (ASI) Ali Syed, Head Constable Muhammad Yaqoob and Constable Tahir Mehmood — were assigned the task of his security, but the accused managed to escape from the hospital in shackles.
