Nowshera: Businessman recovered, kidnappers held
NOWSHERA: The police recovered a kidnapped businessman during a raid in Risalpur and arrested the kidnappers who were demanding huge ransom for his release, the district police officer (DPO) said Wednesday. Speaking at a press conference DPO Muhammad Hussain said the owner of the Kashmir Marble in Mardan, Abid Hussain, had been kidnapped on July 2. He said since the first information report of the incident was lodged at the Risalpur Police Station, the police were probing the incident with minute details to recover the businessman safely.
He added during the last one month the kidnappers were making telephone calls to the family of Abid Hussain to arrange Rs20 million ransom for his release. He said the detained criminals including Khalid, Sufaid Ahmad, Zahir Khan, Jehangir and Yusaf were members of a professional gang of kidnappers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that six other members of the gang were still at large.
The officer said the gang had kept Abid Hussain hostage in a house owned by one Javed in Khorabad village in the limits of the Risalpur Police Station. He added the police raided the location and first arrested one Musharraf, who was guarding the hostage. He added the police busted the gang and recovered the captive with the help of information gleaned from Musharraf. The DPO announced Rs20, 000 cash prize for the police team who investigated the crime and recovered the kidnapped businessman Abid Hussain.
