Rawalpindi: Cops sent to Adiala Jail on 14-day remand
RAWALPINDI: The duty magistrate, Civil Judge Ahmed Hasan Ranjha, on Thursday sent three cops of the Islamabad Police to Adiala Jail on 14–day judicial remand for their alleged role in the escape of a murder accused from the District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi. The court sent the three cops of Islamabad Police — Assistant Sub–Inspector (ASI) Ali Syed, Head Constable Muhammad Yaqoob and Constable Tahir Mehmood — to Adiala Jail for 14 days. The court ordered police to produce the accused again on August 16 for further proceedings.
A few days back, Ruhullah Khan, allegedly involved in the killing of former attorney general (AG) and retired judge of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Sardar Khan, escaped from police custody.
