Islamabad: 9 arrested, stolen items worth Rs 4.6m recovered
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested nine outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 3.105 kilogrammes of hashish, a stolen car and an excavator worth Rs 4.6 million from them, a police spokesman said on Friday. According to police, a team of Sihala Police Station, headed by SHO Bashir Ahmed, arrested a drug pusher identified as Nazeer Ahmed during routine patrolling and recovered three kilogrammes of hashish from him. Officials of the same station also arrested three thieves identified as Habib Khan, Rashid Mehmud and Abdul Aziz, while another man, Waqas Ahmed, a resident of Rawalpindi, was arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder case.
Bhara Kahu SHO Nazir Warraich and ASI Ameer Sajjad impounded an excavator that had been tampered with. The police investigated and found it to be stolen from Toba Tek Singh.
Industrial Area police arrested a drug pusher, Adeel, and recovered 105 grammes of hashish from him, while Kohsar police arrested a car thief, Shafique, who was demanding Rs 500,000 from the owner of the car for its return. Ramana police also nabbed two thieves.
