Lahore: Kidnapped boy recovered
LAHORE: Saddar Police Division SP (Operations) Captain Liaqat Ali Malik (r) said on Friday that the 12-year-old minor boy kidnapped for ransom from the City last month had been safely recovered from the possession of three kidnappers. “The kidnappers have been rounded up and we have recovered a car, a motorbike and other valuables from their possession,” he added. The kidnappers have been identified as Jehangir alias Jango of Raiwind, Nasir alias Nasro of Kahna and Faisal of Kasur; and they have confessed to committing this heinous act of crime.
According to the modus operandi, the culprits abducted the minor Abdul Manan on June 22 and demanded of his heirs ransom amounting to Rs500,000. “The victim family had paid Rs300,00 and promised to pay the remaining amount in due course of time,” said the SP, adding that during this time, the kidnappers changed locations several times to dodge the police.
Malik said the abductors shifted the abductee from Lahore to Pattoki, Head Baloki, Salem and Sargodha. He further said a special police team comprising veteran cops, including DSP Malik Manzoor Ahmed, Raiwind SHO Sub Inspector Sarwar, an investigation in-charge and an ASI, was constituted to look into the matter.
“On Friday, the team finally rounded up the three kidnappers and recovered the abducted minor from their possession,” he commented. Malik further said the search operation in the Katcha area was tough for the the law–enforcement agency and the recovery of the minor was a great success.
