Rawalpindi: Man stabbed to death by wife’s former fiance
RAWALPINDI: A man was stabbed to death publicly at Maira Kala falling in the jurisdiction of Sadar Bairuni Police Station by the former fiance of his wife, police said on Sunday. Mohsin Ali, a resident of Maira Kala, was going to the mosque to meet Qazi Majeed, the ‘imam’ of the mosque, to get his suggestion in naming his newborn daughter. Five men, including Wajid Hussain, Sajid Hussain, Manazir Hussain, Nadir Ali and Riasat, equipped with daggers, intercepted him and started stabbing him but no one intercepted them. The assailants ran away after killing him.
Police said that Mohsin Ali got married with Saira Bibi about one year back. His wife gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, adding that Mohsin Ali was going to the ‘imam–e–masjid’ when trapped and killed by the assailants.
Police, telling the cause of enmity, said that Saira Bibi was earlier engaged with Wajid Hussain, but the engagement broke up and she got married with Mohsin Ali. Police have taken up the case but no assailant has been arrested yet.
