Islamabad: 6 arrested for selling firecrackers
ISLAMABAD: The Margalla police on Saturday conducted a search operation in its jurisdiction and arrested six persons for selling firecrackers illegally, a police spokesman said. As many as 30 other people were also arrested after they failed to produce papers regarding their legal stay in the capital. A police team headed by Station House Officer Inspector Muhammad Hussain Lasi conducted the search operation in the area of G8/4, slum areas, Maskeen Colony, Hansa Colony. Later another team, under the supervision of Inspector Hussain Lasi, raided G9 Markaz and arrested Najeebullah, Rahat, Imran, Rehmatullah, Faqir Zahid and Hanif who were selling explosive crackers illegally.
The police also recovered explosive material worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them. Meanwhile, Islamabad SSP Yaseen Farooq has directed heads of all police stations to ensure strict vigilance in their respective areas and conduct search operation at under-construction buildings, houses, workshops and residential areas. Islamabad IG Bani Amin Khan has also directed the police to ensure foolproof security to everyone in the city and keep strict monitoring of suspected elements. He has also directed to enhance checking at entry as well as exit points.
