Lahore: Hizbul Tehrir activist held
LAHORE: Township police claim to have arrested the commander of a banned outfit and seized from him sensitive documents besides CDs containing anti-state material. Saddar SP (Operations) Captain Liaqat Ali Malik (retired) told Dawn that Rashid Jamal was the Punjab chapter organiser of Hizbul Tehrir. He said the suspect was taken into custody in the light of interrogations with some members who were hoisting anti-state banners at Akbar Chowk few days ago. He said the suspect, who is a computer expert, used to manage operations of his organisation in Punjab. He said police seized hate material in soft copies from him and registered a case.
