Rawalpindi: 4 brothers among 6 killed over property dispute
RAWALPINDI: At least six people, including four brothers, were shot dead at a jirga that had been arranged to resolve a property dispute early on Friday. The jirga had been arranged in Gulistan Colony Line 3 to settle the dispute between two groups headed by Waheed Qureshi and Ibrar. As soon as the jirga started, Waheed Qureshi opened fire, killing five persons on the spot and injuring another. The injured person was rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where he also succumbed to his wounds.
The four brothers were identified as Salman Qureshi, Pervez Qureshi, Aurangzeb Qureshi and Junaid Qureshi. They had recently returned from Kuwait to celebrate the upcoming Eid. Two other people – Adnan and Javed – also died in the attack.
Police registered a case against Waheed Qureshi and were searching for him.
