Karachi: 2 hardened target killers nabbed
KARACHI: Police on Monday claimed to have apprehended two target killers in separate raids conducted here in the metropolis. Mauripur police arrested a target killer allegedly involved in over two dozen target killings, including those of coordinator to Pakistan People’s Party leader Qadir Patel, Edhi Ameen Khaskheli and Abdul Ghani Wachani, 42. The men were going home on their motorcycles when two pillion riders sprayed them with bullets in Baldia Town in May 2010.
The alleged target killer, Abdul Hameed alias CIA Wala is reported to be associated with Razzak Commando group, besides having the backing of a political party. A kalashnikov, repeater and TT pistol were also recovered from his possession.
Separately, District East police detained a man from Saudabad, Malir for his involvement in at least a dozen target killings. An official informed that the accused, Zafar alias Ganja, belonged to the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi and had been involved in the killings of at least dozen workers of the rival political party.
A pistol was also recovered from his possession while further investigation was underway.
