Rawalpindi: 5 dacoits, 5 gamblers held
RAWALPINDI: Police apprehended five suspected dacoits in successful raid at Darbar Shah Piyara within the limits of Police Station Westridge and recovered arms and ammunitions from their possession. This was disclosed by SP Potohar Division Syed Haseeb Shah at a press conference held at PS Westridge here on Monday. Station House Officer (SHO) Malik Allah Yar and other members of the raiding party were also present on the occasion. SP Haseeb Shah, while sharing the details with media, said that police received information that five suspected dacoits were sitting at Darbar Shah Piyara and intending to commit robbery anywhere.
Taking action, a raid under the supervision of Sub Inspector Abbas Shah was conducted nabbing all the five suspected dacoits on the spot, the SP said adding that two pistols of 30 bore with seven bullets and a dagger was also recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile, Police Station (PS) Mandra officials busted a gambling den and arrested 5 gamblers besides recovering Rs 37075, playing cards and a mobile phone that were put on stake by the gamblers. The gamblers, nabbed during police raid, included Sajid, Nadeem, Ajmal, Mohtebar and Amir.
A case has been registered against the gamblers. They were sitting in and intended to commit robbery meanwhile police nabbed them on the spot while foiling their nefarious designs.
