Khanewal: Abduction, return of 6-year-old girl; Case registered after 13 days
KHANEWAL: On the orders of the DPO, the Abdul Hakeem police registered the case of the abduction of a six–year–old girl after 13 days. Javeria Qamar was playing in Abdul Hakeem’s Jinnah Park when two bikers kidnapped her at 11am on July 31. Her family launched a search, but to no avail. The matter was reported to the police high-ups. On the orders of the Multan DIG and the Khanewal DPO, the Abdul Hakeem police set up pickets at various points. Locals also joined the search for the girl. However, the kidnappers left the girl near the park after Iftar and escaped.
Javeria told the police that two people had kidnapped her and took her to a deserted house. “The kidnappers inquired my father’s name and address. Later, they whispered and went away. They ate food, but did not give me anything,” she said, adding that later they dropped her near the park. However, the police were reluctant to register the case since then. Taking notice of the delay in the case, DPO Rai Ijaz Ahmad ordered the police to register the case and submit him a report.
