Okara: Suspicion of illicit relations
OKARA: Six people, including a woman, gouged out the eyes of a man, and cut his tongue, nose and lips on the suspicion of having illicit relations with the woman of their family in Depalpur on Tuesday. Muhammad Yousaf, a barber and a resident of Bahripur village, had allegedly illicit relations with Mukhtaran Bibi, daughter of Mian Khan and mother of six children. Ali Sher and his sister Nasim Bibi, relatives of the woman, came to the house of Yousaf on a motorcycle and took him away on the pretext on distributing marriage invitations in Haveli Lakha. When they reached near a canal outside the village, Mian Khan, Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Hussain, Shabbir Ahmad intercepted and attacked Yousaf. They cut his nose, lips and tongue. Later, they gouged out his eyes and fled.
After getting information, DPO Usman Gondal reached the spot. On the complaint of Yousuf’s wife Shamim Bibi, the Depalpur City police have registered a case against the accused under sections 324, 334, 336, 209, 148 and 149 of the PPC and section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The injured was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore in a critical condition.
Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif summoned DCO Saif Anjum and DPO Usman Akram Gondal to Lahore and inquired after the injured with both officials. The chief minister gave an Rs 500,000 cheque to the injured and directed the DPO to arrest all the culprits immediately. Meanwhile, the police have arrested Javed, Ali Sher and Muhammad Hussain. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused.
