Sialkot: 9 sneaking into Pakistan held
SIALKOT: Pakistan on Sunday arrested nine foreigners while they were trying to sneak into the country from India illegally, a report said on Sunday. “The security forces have arrested nine foreigners from Zafarwal and Narowal sectors near the Indian border,” a report said. “Six of the foreigners were arrested from Narowal while three others arrested from Zafarwal sectors.” Pakistani officials say that incidents of illegal border crossing from the Indian side had witnessed a “sharp increase” in the past few months. Earlier on August 24, Pakistan Rangers, the border guards, had arrested 6 Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to enter into the country from India.
The Rangers officials claimed that attempts to infiltrate the border are usually made when the BSF, India border guards, fire at Rangers posts.
Both countries never enjoyed fully cordial relations. The Indian forces usually fire mortars on the Pakistani side in the Kashmir sector.
A few weeks ago, India said tunnels had been traced along the border with Pakistan, but later that version of the Indian border guards was reportedly proven fake.
Several of the people in the border region complain that Indian forces usually start unprovoked firing, while the Pakistani border forces say that usually such fire is used to send people into Pakistan.
However, Indian authorities take the lead in accusing Pakistan of border infiltration.
