12 POs among 179 held in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The police arrested 179 anti–social elements including 12 proclaimed offenders on Monday and recovered huge amount of weapons in a crackdown in various parts of the provincial metropolis. A press release said that following specials directives of Capital City Police Officer ImtiazAltaf, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) TahirAyub launched crackdown against the anti–social elements in various localities of the city. During the operation, the police arrested Mohammad Naveed, resident of MohallahHaifizabad, JehanZeb, AurangZeb, Mansoor, AlamZeb, Zahoorullah, Khawas, Waheed, Tariq, Abdussalam and others, the release stated. The release said the police also recovered 12 Kalashnikov rifles, 48 pistols, 840 bullets, 23 bottles wine and 15kg hashish from their possession.
