Kasur: Dacoits take away Rs 2.3m, 12-tola gold ornaments in 3 hits
KASUR: Dacoits looted more than Rs 2.3 million, 12 tola gold jewellery and other valuables in three incidents here on Monday. In the first incident at Chunian, Muhammad Iqbal and his security guard Bashir were going to a bank from a petrol station to deposit Rs 1,850,000 in cash when four robbers intercepted them near Sutlej Stadium and shot at and injured guard Bashir Ahmad and snatched the cash from Iqbal, the petrol station manager, and escaped. Chunian Police registered a case on the report of Sheikh Burhan–ud–Din, owner of the filling station. At HanjraiKalan, nine dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Jamil and took hostage of family members and looted cash, seven-tola gold ornaments and silver. Later, the same dacoits entered the other house of Muhammad Sadiq and looted Rs 50,000 and five–tola gold jewellery. Police are investigating.
