Islamabad: Bike thieves, drug-pushers held
ISLAMABAD: Police have busted a gang involved in theft of motorbikes and also arrested nine other outlaws besides recovering hashish and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. According to police, station house officer of Bhara Kahu Police Station Nazeer Ahmed and ASI Ameer Sajjad arrested two motorbike thieves Zafar Iqbal and Khalid Naeem and recovered a bike (RIK–7632) from them. Meanwhile, ASI Talib Hussain nabbed a dacoit, later identified as Mubarak. Sub–Insepctor Muhammad Idress from Tarnol police arrested a drug pusher – Imran – and recovered two kilogrammes of hashish from him while another accused, identified as Bilawal, was nabbed for having two 12–bore guns and a 30–bore pistol.
ASI Zabiullah from Ramana Police Station arrested Altaf Majeed, Malik Israr and Allah Dad for illegally decanting gas in cylinder. ASI Zulfiqar Ahmed nabbed a thief, Rehmat, and recovered stolen items from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons under relevant sections and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the Bani Gala and Nilor area police conducted their search operations on Tuesday and arrested 17 suspects. The search operation was conducted at the under-construction buildings, sheds and houses. On the special directions of SSP Yasin Farooq, the raiding teams of Bani Gala and Nilor police stations conducted the search operations in Jagyot, Kurri, Savera and other areas adjacent to it. The teams checked 100 houses, 15 sheds, and 125 persons.
IG Bani Amin Khan and SSP Farooq have directed to expand this search operation in other areas of city and asked to ensure strict monitoring and vigilance of suspected elements. The purpose of starting search operation in various areas is to ensure foolproof security in the federal capital.
Meanwhile, during a special checking in the federal capital, police impounded 21 vehicles, 68 motorcycles in different areas being used without documents.
