Lahore: Police foil kidnapping bid by girl’s in-laws
LAHORE: Police foiled the attempt by a girl’s in-laws to kidnap her while she was going back to Darul Aman after attending court proceeding on Tuesday. As the proceeding started, Nawan Kot Darul Aman Superintendent Ms Rehman produced Sajida Rajab before the Sessions Court and submitted that she was there with her own will. She said the allegations levelled by the girl’s mother-in-law against the Darul Aman’s administration were baseless.
Sajida, the respondent, also said she was living in the Darul Aman with her own will since she was unhappy with her in-laws. She reiterated that she did not want to go with her in-laws and instead wanted to live in the Dar–ul–Amaan. After listening to this, the court sent her to the Nawan Kot Darul Aman.
Sajida was going back to the Darul Aman after attending the court proceeding when her husband Ghazanfar and in-laws tried to kidnap her. But the timely action of a police constable who resorted to aerial firing foiled the attempt. The matter was taken to the concerned judge who directed Islampura DSP to provide protection to Sajida until she reached the Darul Aman.
