Rawalpindi: 3 dacoits among 26 outlaws held in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: The city police arrested three suspected dacoits during a raid at Ziarat Baba Gohar Ali Shah, the area of Police Station (PS) RA Bazaar, here on Tuesday. The police also recovered two pistols of 30 bore with 7 bullets and a dagger from their possession who later ascertained as Iqraz, Munawar and Akram. A case has been registered against the suspects while interrogation was launched. According to details, on a tip-off that three suspected dacoits were sitting in Shrine Baba Gohar Ali Shah and planning to commit robbery in some area, a police team led by Sub Inspector (SI) Muhammad Sharif carried out a raid and nabbed the three suspected dacoits. Police said further investigation is on while more revelations are expected.
Meanwhile, police during an ongoing campaign against anti–social elements rounded up 15 outlaws from different localities of the city.
From the detainees, the police also seized 2770 grams of Charas, 24 bottles of liquor, 2 pistols of 30 bore with 7 bullets, 3 revolvers of 32 bore with 7 rounds, 7 mobile phones and Rs 21900 cash. Police also taken up cases against the accused and started investigation, informed police spokesman.
On the other hand, Race Course police busted a gambling den and apprehended 8 gamblers.
The Police, on information conducted a raid at Muhammad Colony and arrested eight gamblers including Imran, Irshad, Sher Zaman, Amjad, Ilyas, Amir, Faheem and Khalid. Police also seized playing cards and Rs 28, 270 cash that was put on stake. Cases have been registered against the gamblers.
