Karachi: 10 bootleggers held with huge liquor cache
KARACHI: As many as 10 bootleggers were arrested and a huge cache of liquor was seized from them in separate raids in different parts of the city on Wednesday. Sindh Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla had directed his department officials and police to take stern action against the illegal sale and purchase of liquor. The arrested bootleggers were identified as Abdul Naseem, Sajjad Khan, Muhammad Asif, Noman Harisen, Muhammad Hassan, Muhammad Yasir, Hameed Bun, Rashid and Qasim Habib.
Thirty litres, 90 bottles and 62 “kupies” of liquor were seized from them in raids on Jumma Goth, Malir, Gushan–e–Ghazi, Wazir Mansion, Railway Station, Machar Colony, Christian Para, Al–Karam Square, Sirajud Dullah College, Labour Colony, Ranchore Line and Essa Nagri areas. Cases have been registered against them.
