Peshawar: Booksellers arrested
PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested here on Wednesday several accused involved in violation of copyright laws. An official of FIA crime circle told Dawn that a campaign had been launched against piracy of Oxford University Press books and copyright violation. In this regard a raid was conducted at many places in Charsadda. He said that Niamatullah Shah had been arrested from Iqra Book Agency Tangi, Amjad Ali from Ali Book Agency Sardheri and Shah Hassan from Al–Khidmat Book Agency.
All the accused, he said, were involved in looting the innocent people by selling pirated books of Oxford University Press.
The official said that the raiding team led by inspector Shahid Ilyas had also recovered hundreds of fake books. Cases against the accused have been registered under the relevant laws.
