Terror bid foiled in Rawalpindi; 3 saboteurs nabbed
RAWALPINDI: A massive terror plan has been foiled in the city where police arrested three terrorists from Wah Cantt area of the city and seized firearms and explosives from their possession, SAMAA reports Friday. Wah Cantt police, moving in action on a tip-off, arrested three terrorists from jungle of a nearby cemetery. According to the preliminary investigations, the saboteurs had plans to target the government premises located in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Raids are being conducted for more arrests.
Explosives including 2.25 kilograms of gunpowder, two suicide vests, two detonators, a hand grenade and a remote control device were recovered from the arrested saboteurs.
Police registered a case against the accused under Terrorism and High Explosive Acts. According to police sources, the terrorists belong to Afghanistan.
