Burewala: Allegations of torture, abduction; MNA’s cousin, Mepco official, 12 others booked
BUREWALA: Model Town police on Sunday booked the cousin of PPP MNA from NA-167 Asghar Ali Jatt, the Mepco Burewala deputy manager and 12 others on the charges of kidnapping, torturing and threatening the secretary and supporters of another PPP MNA from NA–168 Natasha Daultana. In his application, MNA Natasha Daultana’s secretary Mehr Shahadat Sial said that he along with Malik Amjad Ali and other supporters came to the Mepco office for some work but Deputy Manager Malik Ashfaq Awan allegedly refused on August 30.
In the meantime, the Mepco deputy manager called MNA Asghar Jatt’s cousin Tahir Naqash Jatt and supporters, including Rizwan Bhatti, Salamat Ghumman, Naeem Sandhu and Shaukat Ali, who allegedly tortured and kidnapped them. Later, the accused left them in Vehari Bazaar. The case has been registered under Sections 506/B, 365, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
