Karachi: Man sentenced to life imprisonment for killing in-law
KARACHI: Additional District & Sessions Judge Karachi West Abdullah Channah on Friday sentenced Naeem, who killed his sister’s brother-in-law in a brawl in year 2005 in Karachi, to life imprisonment. Naeem and Kamran used to sell fruit on hand carts in Saeedabad, Baldia Town and had dispute on placing carts. Naeem stabbed Kamran when Gulabdeen and Mehtabdeen provoked him. The injured later succumbed to injuries in hospital. Judge said legal procedure would also be carried out against other two absconders of the case when they were arrested. FIR 137/2005 under section 302/109 was registered against Naeem and other two accused in Saeedabad police station. Witnesses Shamshir, Rashid Shamshad and others testified in court against Naeem who was also fined Rs 0.1 million and in case he did not pay he would serve in jail six more months.
Meanwhile, Judge Channah also acquitted Muhammad Yousuf on Friday who was arrested in his wife’s murder case eight years ago and directed jail authorities to release him forthwith if he was not required in any other case. Yousuf was arrested by Pirabad police station in connection with case number 245/2004 on complaint of Khan Zarin, mother of the deceased.
