Lahore: Man shot dead over property dispute
LAHORE: A 35–year–old man was shot dead over property dispute in the Chuhng area, police said on Monday night. Police investigators said one Shakeel along with his accomplices opened fire on Maqbool Ahmed near his residence in the Chuhng area. The father of four children, Maqbool, sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The gunmen managed to escape from the crime scene. Investigators said the killers had property dispute with the deceased. The police have removed the dead body to the morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
Also, the Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) stated on Monday that ‘Lahore Wardens’, a special page designed on Facebook, was yielding positive results regarding transfer and posting of traffic wardens in the Punjab Capital.
The CTO asked the wardens to approach the Establishment Branch of the CTO Office, where the issues related to their transfer and posting would be indiscriminately addressed. “Around 120 wardens have been transferred and posted in their favourite traffic sectors and the move is yielding positive results in maintaining smooth flow of traffic,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mujahid Squad SP has deployed standing duty around the banks for Tuesday (today) to thwart any kind of untoward incident.
