Lahore: Robbers injured
LAHORE: Nawab Town police arrested two robbers who were injured in crossfire with police and seized their weapons on Tuesday. The Nawab Town SHO was present at a makeshift picket near Expo Centre when his subordinates signalled a motorcycle to stop for checking. The two suspects suddenly opened fire on police who ‘luckily’ survived. Policemen returned fire and managed to injure the suspects. They were taken into custody by police who also seized two pistols, as many cell phones and the bike. Police said the suspects identified as Naeem of Raiwind and Naveed of Chuhng confessed to more than 40 incidents of robbery in areas of Nawab Town.
SHO Qadeer Ahmad said Naveed was stated to be critical at Jinnah Hospital.
He claimed that a few complainants visited the hospital and recognised the victims as `outlaws’ in their cases.
