Rawalpindi: Land dispute leaves 3 dead, 2 injured
RAWALPINDI: Three people were killed while two other received injuries when an armed clash occurred between two parties over land dispute here at SindhuSyedan on Tuesday. The deceased are identified as Malik Gulfaraz son of Ali Muhammad, Malik Zulfiqar son of Muhammad Afsar and Waqasf whereas Asif and one unknown person sustained bullet injuries. Station House Officer (SHO) PS Rawat Malik Yusaf, when contacted, said there was a longstanding dispute between Malik Gulfaraz and Kashif over 25 kanal of agricultural land while a case was also in a court in Islamabad.
On the day of incident, Kashif tried to plough in controversial piece of land on which the Malik Gulfaraz along with his men Malik Zulfiqar, Waqas and Asif tried him to stop from doing so. On which Kashif got infuriated and started quarrelling with them.
After exchanging hot words, Kashif pulled out weapon and started firing on the other party killing three people and injuring two others, he added. After committing the crime, the accused managed to flee, SHO added.
The dead bodies were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for autopsy while injured were also under treatment in the hospital.
Till filing of the report, no case was registered while police was busy in investigation.
