Taxila: Police torture man to death
TAXILA: Six policemen including an investigation officer (IO) were booked for torturing a murder accused to death on Tuesday. Sources said that WahSaddar Police picked Yousaf Khan, an Afghan national, from Fatehjang a few days back on charges of killing a policeman Niaz Ahmed. The policeman was shot dead during a clash with the outlaws between night on August 12 when during routine patrolling they came across with a four member gang who opened fire at the team killing him on the spot.
Sources said the policemen subjected the accused to severe torture as a result of he died. His body was shifted to the hospital for autopsy. Police high ups have ordered a murder case under section 302 against the policemen. Departmental action would also be taken against them after the post-mortem report.
