Peshawar police seize 110 kg of explosives
PESHAWAR: The city police on Thursday foiled a big terror bid by killing a militant and seizing 110 kilograms explosive material in Bara Sheikhan area. According to the police, information was received that some militants wanted to bring a huge quantity of explosives to Peshawar city through the Batatal route in a pushcart from Bara area in Khyber Agency. When the police party tried to stop a pushcart vendor for frisking, he fired at the police party. He said the vendor was being followed by two persons riding a motorcycle coming from the Bara side. He said the policemen shot him dead.
His two accomplices riding motorcycle hurled a hand-grenade at the police and escaped. The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), he said, reached the site and recovered 110 kilograms explosive material from the pushcart.
