Peshawar: Rs49.10m reference filed against official, others
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has filed a reference against a former assistant manager of the CSD, Peshawar, and two other persons for their alleged involvement in Rs.49.10million embezzlement. An official communiqué said that taking cognizance of the public complaints the NAB initiated an investigation against the accused persons, including Saba Zaman, a former assistant manager of CSD, Peshawar, Faisal Nadeem and Sameen Jan. During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the accused deprived a number of persons of their hard-earned money on the pretext of investment in business, said the statement, adding, the accused had promised to pay back the principal amount along with handsome profit.
“To establish confidence, the accused persons returned a percentage of original amounts to certain affectees by showing it as a profit. But the affectees who had invested amount were deprived of their hard-earned savings,” it added.
