Karachi: 9 car-lifters arrested
KARACHI: The Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) arrested nine car–lifters and recovered 11 stolen vehicles here on Monday. The arrests were made during raids in different parts of the city, said Senior Superintendent Police Syed Khurram Waris. The accused were identified as Muhammad Faisal, Nisar Khan, Sohail Ahmed, Ali Muhammad Magsi alias Muhammad, Hakim Ali, Saqlain Ahmed, Ramzan Soomro, Mirza Nisar Baig and Nayaz Ahmed. “During interrogations the leader of the gang, Ali Muhammad Magsi, disclosed that he and his accomplices had stolen more than 100 vehicles from various parts of the city.
After acquiring the vehicles, they would strip them down at a ‘chop-shop’ and then sell the spare parts,” SSP Waris said. On their disclosure, police raided different hideout and recovered four cars and seven motorcycles. The arrests were made over the course of three days, SSP Waris added.
