Lahore: 61 FIRs lodged, 11 factories sealed
LAHORE: DCO Noorul Amin Mengal on Monday paid surprise visits to factories, junkyards, warehouses, tyre shops at begum kot, Shahdra, Sagyan and Farkh Abad. Entomologists, Staff Officer and other officers were also with him. The DCO also inspected the cleanliness arrangements and he order to lodge FIRs against those eight factories and warehouses’ owners who were not cooperating in anti–dengue campaign and also sealed 8 factories and godowns. Meanwhile, town administrations of different towns also paid visits at factories, junkyards, tyre shops, under construction buildings and godowns in their concerned town in order to search dengue larva and inspect the cleanliness arrangements. During inspections, Nishtar Town Administration initiated action against those persons who were not cooperating in anti-dengue campaign. ADC(R) Nadir Chattha leaded the action. Nadir Chatta lodged 61 FIRs and sealed 11 factories and warehouses due to presence of dengue larva. Administrator Nishtar town Musarat Jabeen took action under the directions of DCO and get registered 4 FIRs in Nishtar town, served show cause notice to a factory.
Data Ganj bakhsh Town administration registered 8 FIRS while Ravi town administration registered 10 FIRs and sealed eight factories and warehouses. Gulberg Town administration registered three FIRs. Shalimar Town administration registered one FIR and sealed a factory while Aziz Bhatti Town registered two FIRs and sealed three factories and warehouses. Iqbal Town administration registered two FIRs and sealed a warehouse, while, Wagha Town administration sealed 3 factories and godowns.
Meanwhile, the DCO also paid surprise visits to monitor polio campaign at locality of nomads in Sagyaan. EDO (Health), DOC Sahabzadi Wasima Umar, Staff Offiicer tariq Zaman, Mufti Intkhab and officers of CDGL were also with him. DCO administrated polio drops to the children. He stated that it is the first priority of CDGL to become Lahore as “Polio Free City”. He admired the work of field staff who is participating in this campaign. He said that CDGL is participating in this campaign like a jahaad and we will achieve our 100 percent target.
Meanwhile, in case of presence of dengue larva at commercial places, FIR would be registered against the owners. Likewise, strict action would be taken against those keeping empty bottles, junk and other items in open area.
This was stated by Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique, while presided over a special meeting of Emergency Response Committee on dengue at Samanabad Town.
Salman said on the direction of the chief minister, all the government machinery is working day and night for ensuring protective measures and controlling dengue virus and every citizen will have to take part in this process. He said that business community has to pay special attention to the places around their shops, plazas and commercial centers.
He said that the government has started publicity campaign in order to sensitize the people while district administration is providing all kind of input in this regard. He reviewed the arrangements made in Samanabad Town and issued necessary instructions.
While addressing the meeting, MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed said due to the timely measures taken on the directive of the chief minister, a small number of people were affected by dengue and the situation was under control.
He hoped with the cooperation of people, dengue disease would be overcome. The meeting was also attended by MPAs Mian Nauman and Ejaz Ahmed Khan besides DCO, Dr Waseem Akram and other concerned officers.
