Lahore: Police shoot down 2 more bandits
LAHORE: City police gunned down two alleged robbers in another fake encounter, staged in the Factory Area police precincts, police sources claimed on Monday. Sources revealed that the two notorious bandits were in police custody for the last several days and the police staged a fake encounter near Civil Services Academy Railway Lines in the Factory Area police limits to close their chapter. Notorious police inspector and encounter specialist, Rashid Amin Butt, led the police team that shot dead the bandits after getting green signal from the police top-brass.
The police however, narrated the typical story that the bandits, later identified as Romail and Qavi Khan, were fleeing after snatching a motorcycle from a citizen when the police team signalled them to stop near the Civil Service Academy.
SHO Factory Area Rashid Amin Butt said the bandits opened fire on the police and triggered an armed encounter. According to him, no policeman was hurt in the crossfire that continued for a considerable time. Both the robbers died on the spot, said the police, adding the bandits were hardened criminals and wanted to police in several cases.
