Bara: 4 persons escape from LI captivity
BARA: Four persons kidnapped by the Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) militant group escaped from captivity in Spindrand area of Tirah valley in Khyber Agency, tribal sources said on Tuesday. The sources said the prisoners including Shad Khan and Naeem managed to escape from the captivity of LI in Spindrand and took shelter in Tarkhokas area inhabited by the Qambarkhel Afridi tribe in the valley. The sources added that Shad Khan had been kidnapped by fighters of the Mangal Bagh-led LI on spying charges.
The sources said another escaped prisoner was identified as close relative of Maulana Mastameen, a leader of the tribal militant group Ansarul Islam (AI), who was beheaded by LI men in their captivity in Gugreena area some four years back. One of the prisoners was stated to be the son of LI commander Shalabaz, who was be headed by his fellow militants.
