Daska: Hospital ransacked as woman dies thru doctor’s ‘negligence’
DASKA: A 22–year–old woman died through the alleged negligence of a lady doctor here. Irfan Ali admitted his wife to a local hospital for delivery about 11 days ago. After two hours of the admission, Dr Ibtisam Umar told Irfan that the condition of his wife was critical and a C-section was required immediately. The doctor operated but after the operation bleeding started. After seven days, the lady doctor conducted the second operation on the patient but the bleeding could not be stopped. After three days of the second operation, the doctor conducted the third operation after which the condition of the patient became more critical. Later, the doctor referred her to a hospital in Lahore where she died on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the relatives and people of the area protested against the doctor. They entered the hospital with clubs and iron rods and broke windows, doors, computers, a medical store, a laboratory and a doctor office. The protesters also blocked the road and chanted the slogans against the hospital administration.
