Lahore: Boy kidnapped by trader recovered
LAHORE: Iqbal Town CIA police claimed to have recovered a class III student on Friday who was kidnapped for Rs7.6 million ransom allegedly by a trader some days ago. The police said 10–year–old Ahmad Umar was recovered when the kidnapper, identified as Nauman alias Nomi, a trader of Misri Shah, reached near the shrine of Data Sahib to get ransom amount. Lahore DIG Investigation ChaudhryShafiq Ahmad handed over the investigation of the case to Iqbal Town CIA DSP Anwar SaeedKingra and Inspector Tariq Kiani when kidnapped boy’s father Hafiz Ijaz submitted an application.
According to the CIA officials, suspect Nauman had lost his own house in gambling and started living in a rented house. He was aware of the financial position of Hafiz Ijaz who also ran his business in Misri Shah.
In order to cover his financial loss, Nomi picked up Ahmad from his academy in Iqbal Town when Hafiz Ijaz got late (to pick his son).
After negotiations on cell phone with Ijaz’s family, Nomi agreed to a ransom amount of Rs3 million and the venue to get it.
He took the schoolboy to the decided place but was arrested by CIA police present there in civvies.
