Karachi violence leaves 11 dead in 24 hours
KARACHI: The ongoing violence in Karachi left 11 people dead over the past 24 hours, SAMAA reported Wednesday. Former nazim Liaqatabad town, Pervez Mehmood and his companion, Khaliqullah were gunned down in North Nazimabad late on Monday, police said. They were associated with Jamat-e-Islami. Pervez Mehmood’s murder triggered violence many areas, including Sohrab Goth, where infuriated people resorted to aerial firing and burnt tyres on roads overnight. Other firing incidents took place in Baldia Town, Green Town, Malir and Baloch Colony where six people lost their lives. Three dead bodies were recovered from Ramsawami and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, police said.
